Remove Line Breaks

Turn multi-line text into a single line, joining with a space, comma or custom separator.

To remove line breaks, paste your multi-line text above and choose how the lines should be joined — with a space, a comma, a pipe or nothing at all. Empty lines are dropped and each line is trimmed before joining.

Frequently asked questions

Why does text copied from a PDF have breaks in odd places?

Because a PDF stores each visual line separately — it has no concept of a paragraph. Copying preserves those line boundaries, which is why removing hard breaks while keeping the blank lines between paragraphs restores readable text.

What is the difference between a soft and hard line break?

A soft break is where text wraps because it ran out of width; it is not stored. A hard break is a real newline character in the file. Only hard breaks survive copying, which is why re-wrapped text looks broken.
