About Convertto

Convertto (convertto.tech) is a collection of 624 free online tools spread across 26 categories — converters, generators, formatters and calculators. There are no accounts, no paywalls and no file size limits. It has been online since August 2026, and it is run by a small independent team rather than a company you have to sign a contract with.

The name

It is Convertto — two Ts, one word, at convertto.tech. It gets mistyped a lot, and if you arrived here after searching for Convirto, Conversto, Convertown, Convertoit, Converttools, Convert Tools, you are in the right place. There is no app to install and no other domain: everything lives at convertto.tech.

Questions, bug reports and tool requests go to hello@convertto.tech — a real address, read by the people who build the tools.

Why the tools run in your browser

Most online converters work by uploading your file to a server, processing it there, and giving you a download link. That means a stranger's machine holds a copy of your document, at least temporarily. For a holiday photo that may not matter. For a signed contract, a payslip or an ID scan, it very much does.

617 of our 624 tools avoid that entirely by doing the work on your own device with JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your file never travels anywhere. As a side effect there is no upload wait, no queue, and no size cap beyond your own memory.

The tools that do need a server

A browser cannot query DNS records or read another site's HTTP headers — those genuinely require a server. Those few tools are clearly marked, and the privacy policy lists every one of them.

How it is built

Every tool is defined as a single declarative descriptor, and the site generates its own routes, metadata, sitemap, structured data, search index and feeds from those descriptors. That is what makes it practical for a catalogue this size to stay consistent and correct.

Machine-readable summaries of the whole catalogue are published at /llms.txt and /llms-full.txt.
