Dice Roller

Roll any number of dice with any number of sides, plus a modifier.

To roll dice, choose how many and how many sides each has, plus any modifier. Each die is rolled independently using the browser's cryptographic random source, and the result shows the individual rolls alongside the total and the statistically expected average.

Frequently asked questions

Is this roller genuinely random?

It uses the browser's cryptographic random source, so the distribution is uniform and unpredictable — better than most physical dice, which are subtly biased by manufacturing tolerances and the pips drilled out of their faces.

Why does 7 come up most on two dice?

Because it has the most combinations — six of the thirty-six outcomes make seven, while only one makes two and one makes twelve. The bell curve is a property of summing dice, not of the dice themselves.
