Crop any photo into a circle, square, rounded square, hexagon or heart.

Frequently asked questions

Why does my circle have a white square around it?

You exported as JPG, which cannot store transparency, so everything outside the circle was filled. Export as PNG or WebP instead — those keep the alpha channel and the circle sits cleanly on any background.

Most sites already crop avatars to a circle — why do this?

They crop for display, not for the file. Download the picture and it is still square. Pre-cropping matters when the image goes somewhere with no mask of its own: an email signature, a slide, a PDF, or a site that shows a square.

What is a squircle?

The rounded-square shape iOS uses for app icons. It is a superellipse rather than a rounded rectangle — the curve starts earlier and flows into the straight edge with no visible join, which is why an icon rounded with a plain radius looks subtly wrong beside real ones.
