Frequently asked questions

Why do aspect ratios matter more than resolution?

Because the ratio determines whether an image is cropped or letterboxed when it is displayed. A 4:3 photo in a 16:9 frame loses the top and bottom or gains bars; doubling the resolution changes neither.

What ratio should a social image be?

1.91:1 for Open Graph, which covers Facebook and LinkedIn, and 2:1 for a large Twitter card. 1200 × 630 satisfies the first and is the safest single size if you are only making one.
