WebVTT to SRT Converter

Convert WebVTT subtitles to SRT with the timings preserved.

To convert WebVTT to SRT, paste the subtitle file above and the converted output appears immediately. Cue timings are preserved to the millisecond, and cues can be renumbered sequentially — which matters because several players silently stop at the first out-of-order index. SRT is the most widely supported subtitle format — numbered cues, comma decimal separators, no styling. If something has to work everywhere, it is SRT.

About converting VTT to SRT

WebVTT is required by the HTML5 <track> element, uses full stops for decimals and begins with a WEBVTT header line. It is the only format browsers play natively. SRT is the most widely supported subtitle format — numbered cues, comma decimal separators, no styling. If something has to work everywhere, it is SRT.
