Frequently asked questions

Why do accented characters come out correctly here?

Because RTF predates Unicode and needs the \u escape, which most converters skip — they write raw UTF-8 into a Latin-1 format and every accent arrives as mojibake. Here each non-ASCII character is written as its RTF escape with an ASCII fallback, so the file is correct in both modern and ancient readers.
