Font Availability Checker — Which Fonts Can This Browser Render?

Test which system fonts are actually available before you rely on them in a font stack.

A font stack only helps if the fonts in it exist on the reader's machine. This checker renders a probe string in each candidate font and compares its width against the generic fallback — if the widths match, the font is not installed and the browser silently substituted. It tests around 60 common system fonts.

Frequently asked questions

Why does a font I definitely have show as missing?

Safari and Firefox both ship anti-fingerprinting modes that restrict font enumeration to a standard set, because the exact list of installed fonts is unusually identifying. In those modes the measurement genuinely cannot tell the difference, so "not installed" means "not detectable".

Does this detect web fonts?

No, and that is intentional — it measures what is available locally. A web font loaded via @font-face will render fine for everyone regardless of what this reports, since the browser downloads it.
