Are formulas converted or their results?

Their results. Excel stores both the formula and its last calculated value, and the value is what belongs in exported data. If a cell arrives empty, the workbook was saved without cached results — open and re-save it in Excel.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No. The file is parsed by JavaScript in this tab and never sent anywhere.
