Frequently asked questions

Why do my CMYK values look different in print?

CMYK conversion here is a mathematical approximation from RGB. Real printing uses ICC profiles specific to the press, ink and paper, which can shift colours noticeably. Always request a proof for colour-critical work.

What is the difference between HSV and HSL?

Both use hue and saturation, but HSL's lightness runs from black through the pure colour to white, while HSV's value runs from black to the pure colour only. Designers usually prefer HSL; image editors often expose HSV.
