## FAQ

### Why do bilingual subtitles need timing overlap matching?

Because a translation rarely breaks its sentences in the same places as the original, so cue 5 in one file may span cues 5 and 6 in the other. Pairing by index would misalign the languages; pairing by overlap does not.
