## FAQ

### Why is there no sound in my screen recording?

System audio is only shared if you tick the "share audio" box in the browser's own picker dialog, and that option is offered for a tab or a whole screen — not for a single window. Chrome and Edge support it; Firefox and Safari largely do not, so on those you get video only.

### Can I record for a long time?

The recording is held in memory until you stop, so the practical limit is your available RAM — roughly an hour of 1080p, much more at 720p. For anything longer, record in segments rather than risking the tab running out of memory at the end.

### Why is the file a WebM instead of an MP4?

MediaRecorder writes what the browser can encode, and on Chrome, Edge and Firefox that is WebM with VP9 or VP8 video. Safari produces MP4. Both play in every current browser; if you need MP4 specifically, convert the WebM afterwards with the video converter.

### Does this record a specific browser tab only?

Yes. The picker offers a tab option, which captures that tab even while you work in another window. It is the cleanest way to record a web app demo, since notifications and other windows never appear in the frame.
