# Image Upscaler — Enlarge to Any Size

> Drop an image, see its current size auto-detected, set your target width, height or file size and enlarge.

Drop an image and the tool auto-detects its width, height and file size, pre-filling the targets at 2× the original. Edit the target width, height or file size to upscale. If the result at target dimensions is still smaller than your file-size target, the tool scales further automatically. Interpolation ranges from smooth for photos to nearest-neighbour for pixel art.

## Key facts

- **Auto-detect:** Fills targets at 2× the original on drop
- **Interpolation:** High, medium, low, or nearest-neighbour for pixel art
- **Target size:** Scales further if the result is under your file-size target
- **Privacy:** Runs entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded

## FAQ

### Will upscaling improve image quality?

Upscaling adds pixels by interpolation — it makes the image larger but cannot recover detail that was never captured. Photographs will look slightly softer at extreme scales. For pixel art, use nearest-neighbour to keep sharp edges.

### What is nearest-neighbour interpolation?

It duplicates pixels without blending, preserving the sharp, blocky look of pixel art, retro game sprites, and low-resolution icons. Photographs should use high-quality (smooth) interpolation instead.
