## FAQ

### Do I still need a favicon.ico file?

Rarely. Every current browser reads PNG favicons via link tags. A root favicon.ico only matters for very old browsers and for requests that bypass your HTML entirely.

### What size should the source image be?

At least 512-512 and square. Icons are downscaled, never upscaled, so a small source will look soft at the larger sizes.
