### Does extracting pages reduce the file size?

Usually, but less than you would expect. Fonts and images are shared across a document, so a font embedded for the whole file comes along if any extracted page uses it. Extracting 2 pages from a 100-page report often produces a file far larger than 2% of the original.

### What is the difference between extracting and splitting?

Extracting keeps a chosen subset and discards the rest. Splitting divides the whole document into parts with nothing left out. If you want every page, just in separate files, splitting is the tool.
