### Is the metadata really gone?

Yes. The output file is generated fresh from raw pixel data, so there is no metadata block to recover — unlike editors that merely blank the fields while keeping the structure.

### Does this reduce image quality?

Slightly, if you output to a lossy format like JPG or WebP, because the image is re-encoded. Choose PNG or a high quality setting if that matters more than file size.
